A Story About Thai Food
Here’s a funny story, or, at least, a story I find slightly amusing.
About a year and a half ago, I had Thai food for the first time at an after work get-together. During dinner, my coworkers poked a bit of fun at me, the 22-year-old who’d never had Thai food.
But see, I grew up in rural Ohio. My town had two gas stations and just as many drive-thru liquor stops. When we wanted good Chinese food, we drove 20 miles to get it.
Now, in the middle of Los Angeles, I live two blocks from a Thai place. And it’s probably my favorite restaurant in walking distance.
Bet my coworkers never would have imagined that.
